- It's like a face, but before it -
I'm Shawn. I'm a young guy who spends a lot of time on the internet. I've always had an appreciation for dictionaries, encyclopedias, and databases, which probably sounds nerdy, but I mostly liked their structure and orginazation. I thought it would be fun to create a similar resource for things I personally enjoyed, kind of like a dictionary of my mind. I don't think my brain's particularly special or interesting, but I thought if anything, it'd be akin to a journal or blog that people could check up on now and then and see if they liked any of my suggestions. So, that's what I did:
Semipedia is meant to be a lighthearted collection of new words, terms, phrases, concepts, and ideas that you won't find anywhere else on the internet. The site is organized into articles, known as semipages, that detail the definition, usage, and origin of various subjects. In the top right of each semipage is a sticky note. Within these sticky notes are classifications and internal links. Semipages with a purple label dubbed "semi-original" have been created and defined by yours truly. The term "created" is rather loose in this setting. I haven't coined or officially documented any entry with this tag, and I don't even claim to be the first person to ever think of the term and/or definition. I've simply detailed an idea I had in a structured format. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the inspiration, date of entry, and related sources. Semipages with a green label dubbed "pseudo-orignal" have been previously referenced or coined by another source in the past. This means that I have not personally thought of and/or defined the words, terms, phrases, concepts, or ideas detailed in the article. Scroll to the bottom of the page for external credit and related sources.
This is my first large-scale web project, so I apologize if the design seems clunky or unfinished. I try to update the site with new stuff every week. I appreciate you stopping by!
